BRICS is an intergovernmental association of countries that was founded in 2006 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. At first, it was called BRIC: the acronym was formed from the first letters of the names of the countries that joined — Brazil, Russia, India, and China.

   In 2011, South Africa joined the commonwealth. On January 1, 2024, the invitation to join the BRICS association was accepted by: Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.

   One of the main areas of cooperation within BRICS was recognized as the need to strengthen exchanges between people and develop closer cooperation in the fields of culture, sports, education, and cinema.

The games are held with the aim of developing people's diplomacy from a young age through culture and creativity, developing multilateral cultural cooperation, establishing cultural exchange, and mutual enrichment of the cultures of the peoples of the BRICS member countries.

The BRICS ART GAMES are held in the following nominations:

- Vocal

- Choreography

- Instrumental genre

- Original genre

- Theatrical art

- Art creativity

- Art in sports

- Fashion

- Diplomatic chess

Children aged 8 to 18 can take part in the games. The award ceremony for the games is scheduled for spring 2025.
